MATTHEW KOPRIVNIKAR [Koprinikar]
Funeral services for the late Matt KOPRIVNIKAR, prominent Eagle county man, were held in Leadville last Thursday, July 27, four days after his death in the Gilman hospital.
Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev. Father George M. SPEHAR in St. Joseph's church, assisted by the St. Joseph's choir.
Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers were H. K. BROOKS and Martin EICHLER of Eagle,Joseph STARIHA of Red Cliff, Charles BOSICK of Denver, Julius CACCIALUPI and Joseph STEVENS of Leadville.
Mr. KOPRIVNIKAR was born in Yugo Slavia September 21, 1875 and came to the United States seventeen years later. He married Antonia TURK August 23, 1903, who preceded him in death March 11, 1947. They were parents of seven children, two of whom died in infancy.
Mr. KOPRIVNIKAR lived in Leadville, where he worked in the mines and in 1913 moved to Edwards, where he engaged in farming until his death, holding a place among the leading ranchers and stockmen of Eagle county. He had been in failing health for the past several months, and death came at the hospital in Gilman July 23.
Surviving are three daughters, Katherine of Edwards; Mrs. Jeff TAYLOR of Minturn and Mrs. John STRELL of Leadville. Two sons, Matthew and Daniel of Edwards; two granddaughters Mrs. Matthew FRANCIS of Leadville and Betty Jean TAYLOR of Minturn; one great grandson, David FRANCIS, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank CERJAK and Mrs. Frances GERGE of Denver.
