Tony Bustamente, 95, passed away in the comfort of Hospice and
Palliative Care of Grand Junction, CO.
He was born March 8, 1917 in Miami, Arizona. He served in the
United States Army as Captain during World War II, and was honorably
discharged in 1946. After his discharge he earned a degree
from Arizona Teachers College, (Arizona State University).
Tony then spent the next 30 years in a career at Arizona State University,
in various capacities; 20 of those years was as the bookstore
manager.
His love for family and friends extended to the many people he
came in contact with and was widely known by those who loved
him as “Papa Tony.”
In May 2007, he moved to Grand Junction to be near his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Rosemary Burdett and Susan Gimborys;
grandson, Paul (Marne) Burdett; granddaughters, Lori (Jeff)
DeCrow and Kaleigh Gimborys; five great-granddaughters; four
brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25th at
Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

Care of Grand Junction.
