Ida Oyler Herwick, wife of Josiah Herwick. She became a member of Pacific Circle, Women of Woodcraft, Circle No. 132 at Eagle, Colorado, on Dec. 16, 1898. She died at Grand Valley, Colorado (now Battlement Mesa, Colorado, on March 8, 1919. -- Carol Crawford McManus, from "Ida, her Labor of Love," 1999.

Studio portrait of Breta Louise Nylund Gustafson (1857-1893), wife of Charles and mother of Charles and WIlliam Gustafson and Sophia Gustafson Ryden. She is wearing a high collar and brooch.
She was married to Charles Gustafson in Finland. Mr. Gustafson arrived in Leadville in 1880 and was a miner before moving to Gypsum. Breta and his children joined him in 1891. She died in 1893.

70) Lucky GJ Ranch

Calling card from Lucky GJ Ranch, at the confluence of Sweetwater Creek and the Colorado River. Margaret Smith, Edith Eidem, and Delia Bridget O'Callaghan, three WW II ex-Wacs, bought the Ranch in February 1947 from Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stewart. They operated the 300-acre ranch as a dude ranch. There was a thirty-two room ranch house that they cleaned up and then they added cabins and worked fields.
Gene Godat worked as their hunting guide for tourists....

Elizabeth Charity Forster, daughter of Henry Moore Forster and Mary Jane Kirkland Forster, at the age of 18. She was born July 27, 1854, in WInterset, Iowa. Her family moved to Valley View, Texas, where Elizabeth met and married William Henry George October 23, 1873.

Anita Catharine Golburn Caveney with her daughter, Teresa Caveney (Lewis) in the spring of 1917 (Teresa was born Nov. 11, 1916). Teresa is in a baby carriage and Anita is holding her hand while posing for the photo. Anita has a floral bouquet attached to her bodice.
Anita's parents, Henry and Margaret Golburn were from Ireland. Anita married William J. Caveney and they lived in Chicago. Anita died in 1930.

Photograph of a studio portrait of Ollie Graham. She was a music teacher in Red Cliff, was superintendent of schools, and later married Oscar Myer. Mr. Meyer was shot by Sherbondy in 1935. Bill Luby was the judge in that case.
