The Neff family moved to Eagle county, Colorado, to the Red canyon ranch in 1911. Marcus P. Neff owned the ranch for 21 years and then moved to Red Cliff with his wife, Annabelle, and family. Mr. Neff owned and operated the Battle Mountain Transportation Company.

Fumiko and Charles Ellis. Charlie was the son of Frank and Laverne Ellis and a cousin to the Beck boys. He grew up and went to high school in Red Cliff and later served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars (U.S. Navy). He met Fumiko Ganaha while stationed in Japan and they were married in 1974.

Marie Warren, her daughter-in-law, Lorna Hargreaves Warren (married to Everett), and Johanna Fear, posing in a front yard. Marie Warren worked as a postal clerk in Red Cliff from 1946 to 1959. She also reported news of the Red Cliff community for the Eagle Valley Enterprise.

Part of the old recreation area was used for the disposal of mill tailings. "Our ball field succumbed to a gravel pit. ...Our fish ponds were covered with tailings, also part of the golf course, most of the dusty roads and best picnic areas. Many of us asked for Company help in starting over again. Our pleas didn't fall on deaf ears....
