Minturn's main street in May--June 1957. Minturn Mercantile store is on the right, Williams Motel on the left. The main street is packed and oiled dirt. The photo is a good example of an ink caption bleeding through the photograph (examine upper left).

"The McCoy lane looking west. This 1912 photo [says 1911 on verso of photo] shows the front part of the Hotel on the left, [on the right] the blacksmith shop, the big red barn and the front of the old log barn and beyond it, the bridge across Rock Creek. The big barn, approximately fifty by sixty feet in size, was of frame construction and built by C. H. McCoy in 1902. It had stalls for twenty horses and a loft that held ten tons of loose hay....

Red Cliff Bridge on U.S. Highway 24, across the canyon of the Eagle River at Red Cliff, Colorado. Completed on July 28, 1941; dedicated and opened to travel on August 3, 1941. Dimensions: 470 ft. long; 209 ft. high; 30-ft. roadway and two 18-inch curbs. The Red Cliff Bridge was entered into the National Register of Historic Places on February 4, 1985, in recognition of its contribution to the heritage of the state of Colorado Buildings in background...
