The Ambos homestead cabin and Ambos Reservoir. The cities of Colorado Springs and Aurora sponsored the development of a dam and reservoir that would provide each city with 37,000 acre feet (approximately twelve billion gallons) of water per year. Ultimately, the decision was up to communities using the water on the Western Slope. The project is detailed in two phases, both of which are available at the Eagle Public library and archives, and this map is included as part of those collections, respectively....
