North School was build in the summer of 1903 after Englewood's incorporation. It was built on the northeast comer of S. Cherokee and West Cornell. There were 35 pupils when it opened. A small addition was built in the back in 1904. In 1905 the west half of the building was built. A brick building was built at 3000 S Bannock in 1905, North Englewood Elementary School. Panoramic view of Englewood in 1917. The view is to the North along Sherman on the right and Grant on the left. The photo was taken on top of Lowell school at 3500 S. Sherman. Hampden runs to the left of the photo towards Broadway. (The photo is split in two with the upper photo fitting onto the left of the lower photo).
