This photo shows the planting of the first trees, as well as the construction of some of the tent cottages at Swedish Hospital. Seated on the wagon seat, holding the horse reins is Charles John Sandell. His son, Erwin Charles Sandell, then about 12 yrs. old, is seated on the edge of the wagon at the back wheel.
