"Charley McCoy's Upper Place in 1930.The original log house was destroyed by fire in 1927 or 1928 and the frame house was built shortly afterwards. This picture shows some of Charley McCoy's top grade of cattle. The house to which the barn belongs is on Eagle St. in Red Cliff. It was the Forest Ranger station and then housing for the Erlandson, Penrod and Ottens families. To the right of the house is the old town hall and jail.

Through the trees and snow, the Chambers Barn sits in the quiet of winter. The barn is now the Eagle County Historical Society museum and the ranch land pictured is likely to be where the current Interstate 70 interchange is located.
