Photo postcard of Earnest A. Cook, in Army uniform, training at Camp Dix, New Jersey, for World War I. On the back, he writes: "Dear Sweetheart, This picture isn't very good as there is too much light on my face and it blurred across my eyes. Will have some better ones taken before I go across. Be good, Dearie. Yours lovingly, Earnest. That stern look is necessary when we stand at attention."
