Studio portrait of Addison L. and Bird Crawford Hockett, early pioneers of Eagle County. He married Birdie Crawford on November 22, 1898. They lived in Gypsum and had six children. Addison's father, Barclay Hockett, first settled on the mouth of Brush Creek in 1882, in an area now known as Hockett Gulch. Barclay Hockett was Eagle's first postmaster. Jack and Ella Layton standing in front of their house in Eagle, Colorado. Jack arrived in Eagle County [then part of Summit County] in 1879. He prospected, hunted and fished on Brush Creek, arriving "early enough to see Indians." [Eagle County History, 1940] He married his wife, Ella, on August 5, 1891. Together, they ranched and lived in Eagle.

Joe and Margaret Mary Macdonell Morris in Eagle on their wedding day, June 3, 1951. Joe Graduated from Eagle High School in 1944. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served for two years. After they were married, Joe and Margaret moved to Glenwood where he was an auto mechanic for more than 45 years, working for Ford Motor Co. and Mid Continent Coal and Coke.
